American Kennel Club Champion White German Shepherds
This is a painting done by Ward Binks. It shows Ch. Giralda's Dawn and Ch. Giralda's Day. These AKC Ch whites were bred by Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge (referred to in the text below as Mrs. M. Hartley Dodge as her husband was Marcellus Hartley Dodge) at her Giralda Farm in Madison, New Jersey about 1940. The caption calls the dogs creams but that is likely the terminology of the day as many whites have cream tones in the coats. They are clearly what today we call whites.
